The default scripts that are loaded when you start up epic are specifically
"global", and your ~/.epicrc. You can do
                /WHICH filename
to see where these files are if you don't know. Now "global" loads
                "2.8script"
                "basical"
                "builtins"
                "local"

These scripts have not changed much in the past 10 years, and I'm starting
to get more and more push-back from scripters who say they are getting in
the way, and from users who tell me some of the features are implemented
badly.

To start off this discussion, I have commented out a swath of oper-only
stuff in the "2.8script" script. This is stuff that I doubt anyone will
notice or miss, because I seriously doubt it even works.

What I would like from you all, is your patient review of the scripts
that are loaded by epic, and comments upon what things you are quite sure
are not worth keeping. Telling me that none of it is worth keeping is not
the kind of helpful feedback I am hoping for. Something more along the
lines of "The handler for /on 210 is not useful because it assumes a format
that hasn't been used since irc2.8.20."

I also need to know which features that are in these scripts you are using
on a regular basis. If nobody seems interested in these scripts, then many
of these features may be revised, or excised, to reduce cruftiness.

A lack of feedback will tell me that people don't really have a lot of
emotional investment in these scripts, and that it will be ok for me to
reduce cruft by eliminating features that probably don't work. Then the
ball will be put back into your court to object about the changes after
the fact.

In absolutely no case will any of these changes be made to epic4. EPIC4
is done, finished, completed, end-of-lined, and will not be changed. This
discussion is strictly for epic5.
