Re: [pfSense] VMWare maximum of 10 vnics

If it doesn't work in VMWare, I'll use 2 physical servers and a CARP setup. However, I'd rather go with VMWare if possible. I'm currently trying to configure pfSense firewall in a VMWare machine. There is apparently a limit of 10 vNICs on Vsphere 5, but I would need this firewall to access 11 networks. Since all the networks in VMWare are already tagged vlans, I don't really how to overcome this limit. Don't see the issue? Set the vSwitch vlan to All then assign the vlans inside pfSense all to one or max 10 nics. What's your vSphere net config look like? ___ List mailing list List@lists.pfsense.org http://lists.pfsense.org/mailman/listinfo/list

Many thanks, Orges 1- I'm not sure about bridging. Never used it. 2- Sure, go to Firewall - Aliases, Add new and choose type Host. Then add as many hosts as you like. ___ List mailing list List@lists.pfsense.org http://lists.pfsense.org/mailman/listinfo/list

I had had this issue once before and to get around it I just reloaded pfsense and started over but that isnt really an option this time. A reboot of the attached equipment can resolve the isuue. bye Christoph Thank you Dickie Well, I pulled the plug on the cable modem for over 5 mins, and still no luck. I am able to ping anything local to this subnet, but nothing outside, it seems like a routing / gateway issue, but unsure really what to look for next. Like I said before, I have had this happen in the past, going from a private ip on the wan to a public ip and with the same result, and in the end last time, I had to reload pfsense. I also did check the NAT and they are automatically created Anything else I can check?
