A report on the second Russian WSG meeting...
17th of April - About 30 Russian web-developers have come to 2nd WSG meeting
to learn something new about web-standards. The 2nd WSG meeting was held by
the Russian WSG under the aegis of Russian Internet technologies Conference
2007 (RIT-2007). There were 8 active group members (Vadim Makeev, Aleksey
Rybakov, Marat Mamiashev, Olga Aleksashenko, Vitaly Harisov, Sergey
Mezentzev, Maksim Rossomachin, Yuri Artiukch) and about 20-25 visitors who
is interested in web-standards community and best practices. After small
preparations Vadim Makeev and Maksim Rossomachin have introduced actual WSG
Russia plans (creating the official website and building of stronger and
more active Russian web standards community). The visitors have taken part
in the discussion arisen; and a lot of good ideas have been expressed about
the discussion topics.
On the day before (16th of April) WSG members - Vadim Makeev, Aleksey
Rybakov and Maksim Rossomachin - have made the reports about CSS coding,
code testing and microformats. BTW, Maksim has showed the first Russian
presentation of microformat technology. After microformats presentation
Aleksey Rybakov and Maksim have discussed semantic coding, validation,
webstandards and so on.
