OZeWAI 2006 (Melbourne) - November 29 and December 1
--------------------
Web Adaptability Conference 2006: Are we making the best progress possible?
La Trobe University Melbourne.
Adaptability is about ensuring that everyone who wants to access digital
content can do so if they have appropriate devices and telecommunications.
Currently this is not the case - large Web pages rarely fit on small
hand-held device screens, let alone phone screens, and most interesting
sites are not accessible to people with adaptive tchnologies because the
resources are not well-formed.

JOBS
----------------------------------

Contract work at the University of Melbourne
--------------------
Web developers, programmers, designers, content specialists, information
architects or project managers interested in being considered for
contract-based web development work at the University of Melbourne are
invited to submit their details via this web form:
http://www.unimelb.edu.au/webcentre/tools/developerlist/

The web form asks prospective contractors to nominate some web sites as
examples of their work. The University's central Web Services group will
assess the nominated sites, looking for evidence of:

* an understanding of usability and accessibility
* ability to apply a corporate design standard
* quality of coding and content
* and other indicators of quality.

We will notify the contractor of the outcome of this review and,
assuming all is well, add their contact details to our list of
QA-checked contractors for work on an ad hoc basis.

Thanks
Russ
