[WSG] Using Tables w/CSS
Hi, My attempt at learning a step backwards has left me stumped: (http://working.bushidodeep.com/table_layout/2Col_layout.html) I've validation errors that I'm unable to debug. Would someone guide me to the correct solution? [WSG] Using Tables w/CSS
Hi, The problem is solved, but the question lingers is this the most streamline solution? CK wrote: The problem is solved, but the question lingers is this the most streamline solution? Don't know since it is a bit minimal at the moment. If this is what you're working on... http://working.bushidodeep.com/table_layout/2Col_layout.html ...then it may at least pass as a valid and conforming xhtml document once it is cleaned up by a well-instructed HTMLTidy. Cleaned up and served as 'text/html'... http://www.gunlaug.no/tos/alien/test_5400.html ...or served as 'application/xhtml+xml'... http://www.gunlaug.no/tos/alien/test_5400.xhtml I guess you want the former :-) Some more CSS-tuning needed, and you'll have to decide what mode IE6 should run in. regards Georg -- http://www.gunlaug.no ** The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ See http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm for some hints on posting to the list getting help **

Some more CSS-tuning needed, and you'll have to decide what mode IE6 should run in. Don't think the following causes clutter, as there certainly are some who may welcome, or need, an update. About IE6' mode... http://www.w3.org/International/articles/serving-xhtml/#quirks Myself, I usually keep IE6 in 'quirks mode'... http://www.gunlaug.no/contents/wd_additions_16.html ...but that's not everyone's preference :-) About CSS-tuning... ...just compare the result in the latest Opera, Firefox, Safari, and of course IE6/7 and whatever other browser you want to support, and make sure they all render your page as you want them to. Some differences at the moment. Table-designs are no more cross-browser reliable than CSS-layouts ;-) regards Georg -- http://www.gunlaug.no ** The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ See http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm for some hints on posting to the list getting help **

Hi, The more I attempt to unlearn for the sake of a project and temp agency, the more I'm forced to agree.
