Does anyone know where the search descriptions come in default
sharepoint search.
I don;t have any idea about search at all,, and am using all the
default settings.
When I search on say cars...
It brings up results and some of them do not have any few words description.

I have a problem with list items not appearing in a filtered view where
they should be.
We have a SharePoint custom list that holds user timesheet data that
they enter. It contains a bunch of fields such as a lookup field to a
job and a task, a numerical duration, date, and

it's in datasheet mode, which also contains the same missing list items

It seems no matter what we do that the system master page's search placeholder
always gets hijacked by SharePoint and replaced with its own. Our Custom master
page behaves as expected.

How are you restoring the db? I've found the best way is to create a new
application in the new server, including creating a new database. Then
using a batch command similar to below to delete the newly created
database and replace it with the restored database.

Already tried with the same outcome.
1. restoring a sharepoint site (Y) including the content db
using UI/STSadm, it can create the site but fails when attaching/Adding db
after restoring the db.
2. attaching/Add the content db from a restored db
using STSadm, fails
Afternoon all,
I backed up and restored this site to another site using SP Designer /
.cmp and the problem was gone on the new site. I have no idea what
caused this but it seems to have gone away with this action. A big
question mark.

No, there's nothing like that in place in this one. Good suggestion
though. It was working alright in the 2nd half of last week which is
interesting as it seems to have sprung out of nowhere.
I've now restored the site back to the original URL and it's working
again. However
