Bug ID: 42224
Summary: Git mirror repo on GitHub has no git tags
Product: Website
Version: unspecified
Hardware: PC
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P
Component: General Website
Assignee: unassignedb...@nondot.org
Reporter: jus...@postgresql.org
CC: llvm-bugs@lists.llvm.org, m...@sqlby.me
The llvm mirror on GitHub (https://github.com/llvm-mirror/llvm) is missing tags
for all of the releases.
This means resetting a checked out git repo to one of the release commits (eg
release_80) doesn't work, nor will any attempt to compare the point in time of
the release to other things.
Stumbled on this when trying to do both just now - 1. reset a local repo to the
release_80 state, and b. compare part of the LLVM 8.0.0 release to the current
release_80 branch.
Am investigating a failure in wasm generation with current release_80 branch
compared to the 8.0.0 release, so this would have been very helpful.
Is there any chance the git tags could be added to the repo?
In theory, it shouldn't be *too* hard to add the historical ones, and future
ones only need adding at release time. :)
Note - Wasn't sure where to file this bug, so just picked what looks like a
reasonable place. Hopefully not too far off.
