An offsite rendering system for projects that could be a while, also we would
need a beefy system especially as the tracks get more complex. This is doable
dont get me wrong but right now have no hardware to do it.

I didn't get as far as implementing anything because at that stage this
list was effectively dead and no one replied to my posts requesting access
to the site.
Kind regards,

I'd be a big fan of an offline rendering system where the LSP could use the
uploaded samples and plugins to render said audio track for playback... :)

My ideas mainly centred around LSP2. I basically wanted to make it far more
'community' focused. Think Soundcloud before the revamp that made
everything terrible. Better statistics on tracks, better commenting system,
more useful search (trending, hot, popular, new, etc), tags, User profiles,

Sam what I would love to hear more about the ideas you have had for the
past year.

Alright, I've reached out.
Probably a TL;DR post, but I hope it gets the general message across.

Reaching out won't hurt us. I don't know if KVR people would want to work
with us, but the Zyn guys probably will ;)

@Jonathan,
If you're asking me, I can take a swing at it.
I don't have the history and reputation with the KVR or Zyn community, but
I'll try. I know the basics of formation at least.

I think joining forces with ZynAddSubFX people is a good idea. I think Zyn
needs a lot of work too, we could motivate each other and learn together.
I may ask Paul Nasca what he'd think of that.

Would you like to spear head the effort to get all parties of the below
mentioned and any others that we might use in LMMS and see if they could help
us with down stream development or some sort of partnership?

As convenient as this would be, it seems like it would complicate structure
and formation of LMMS goals.
I would vote to team with something like KVR audio or ZynSubAddFX members.
They're the community that could take LMMS forward, in my opinion.

Thinking about it, I wonder if we could become a part of the blender
foundation. Yes its a 3d animation program, but obviously for any animated
films they need a sound track etc.
What do you guys think Should I contact them?

Isn't it gonna cost a lot of time and money to start and run?
Maybe I'd be sufficient to first find an existing one to look over LMMS. I
wonder what is optimal.
Maybe separating from it later would be problematic, and that's why we
should stay "independent"? However I think coope
A foundation is something I do want to setup for this project eventually. I
need to discuss logistics with toby.

Regarding the domain, I think that would be something you would need to
discuss with tony. If you are willing to sponsor the domain at this stage I
woudl say go for it, but its best you discuss it with him

Hey sam sorry for the delay on this. Actually Toby was the one that wants to
use this frame work and Its quite nice and probably the best documented out
there. I would start by setting up a tutorial project and working through the
tutorials so you have an idea of what is going on.

This is a stretch, I know, but I just looked up some other domain names,
and "khord.net' and "khord.org" are $10 each. The name kind of has a
KDE/Music pun to it. To quote Johnathan, "just an idea". :)

Also, if we're going to look at purchasing domain names and hosting, it
would be worth looking at setting up an LMMS 'Organisation' kind of like
KDE and transfer 'ownership' of such things to the Organisation. That way
we can neatly avoid any possible disputes down t

I rose this same CMS question on the user's list in regards to heading down

Hi Jonathan,
With regards to the new website and LSP2, are there any general plans? I
wouldn't mind having a quick discussion about the technologies/frameworks
used. Things like the primary language used, the CMS (Wordpress, Drupal,
other), DB, etc.
