I just read the report. The ASF has no “maintenance mode” status, so that isn’t really an option. That said, Log4PHP is basically in the same state. It remains active in the logging project because there are people there who say they will actively maintain it even though nothing ever happens.

The Logging PMC has been discussing merging all the mailing lists into a single dev list and a single user’s list. As such, this is probably a good time to discuss where log4cxx is headed. It seems to me the experiment that to reboot log4cxx has not succeeded. As such I think the proper course

Moving the project from the incubator to Logging Services

The Logging Services PMC has voted to move Log4cxx out of the incubator back into Logging Services. I will start a vote on the Incubator general list to accomplish this. After the vote completes we can discuss whether the code should stay in subversion of move to git. Ralph
