RE: stocks
I find FasTrade are good for the UK, Ameritrade for the US. With both of them it's easy to get a Real Person on the phone, which is important to me. I've known other people to use etrade. Do you want to trade on foreign markets? If you do then you should check that this is possible with whoever you go with. Technical Meeting Agenda
Here's the agenda(!) for the technical meeting on 19th April (a week today) at State 51. Committee Reports: T-Shirt Committee Server Committee Canel Visitation Committee Lightning Talks: Not Matt's Scripts/TT Views - Mark Why Perl Advocacy is Bad - Dave Talks: "101 fun things to do with Tangram" - Jo "parsing and semantic transformation of Perl code" - Robin Music - Alex Still room for one or two more lightning talks - it might be nice if someone who hasn't already spoken was to have a go. Lightning talks are a gentle way to get into speaking at meetings. Have you done something interesting in Perl that you'd like to tell us about? Let me know. re-release of autodial
the new version of autodial - codenamed DiaKiller, is available at http://droogs.org/autodial/ it no longer kills dia, in fact it works quite well with a few caveats - it is much easier to test with Dia, rather than parsing the xml in my head. :) A. -- A HREF = "http://termisoc.org/~betty" Betty @ termisoc.org /A "As a youngster Fred fought sea battles on the village pond using a complex system of signals he devised that was later adopted by the Royal Navy. Re: Perl on HPUX
Dean wrote: DOH! Its running 4.0.1.8 Well, perl4.0 patchlevel 36 -- usually called 4.036, I think. And AFAIK it's only supported in the context of the kernel debugger q4, not for developing (sort-of like the cc shipped with HPUX is only to be used to re-build the kernel and hence is still KR; you have to pay money to get a "real" cc). You may need a more recent distribution. I don't think HPUX comes any newer than 11. He just needs a recent Perl; you don't get decent Perl (nor decent cc) shipped with HPUX.
