eughh! when you say 'Buffy gear' do you mean as in 'we guarantee
these were worn by Buffy ... ' or something entirely more celeubrious ?

no looks like the usual crap: 1 in a billion signed prints and magazines, no
soiled
clothes...

embargo has been due to foot and mouth, embargo is bi-directional and covers
meat as well.

Someone just laid what I think is a fresh urban myth on me, but is
there any kind of embargo on comestibles going from England to France?
 Like even wrapped chocolate?

Re: O'Reilly Safari - anyone use it?

2001-05-20 Thread Barry Pretsell

A problem we're currently encountering with DMP. Some dickhead in Israel
thinks it's clever to distribute the PDF for free from his website.

Why do Manning sell their books online as pdf files? and do they plan to
stop it
now that rampant copying is taking place?

O'Reilly Safari - anyone use it?

2001-05-18 Thread Barry Pretsell

I'm interested to know if anyone uses Safari to
read O'Reilly books online.
http://safari1.oreilly.com/tablhom.asp?home

It sounds like a good idea (must be better than
having 3 editions of Programming Perl) and I'm tempted to give it a go, so any
Safari subscribers out there with an opinion?

Has anyone sighted TPJ in a (London) newsagent or
bookshop, or know who the UK distributor is?
