Well, this is a problem:
I just installed nine new thin clients on our server. Everything looks
good except that now 3 machines won't start up. I get (among other things)
Session declined: Maximum number of open sessions reached.
Also, it seems that the modprobe is looking for
Joe,
THe setting you need to change in gdm.conf is:
MaxSessions
It defaults to 16 on Ubuntu.
Also, the error about the missing modprobe.devfs file indicates to me that
you are using the 2.6.9-ltsp-3 kernel. You really should be using the
2.4.26-ltsp-3. There's all sorts of issues with
Heh . . . probably a bit too late in the game to change the kernel just

Easy. Just change the 'filename' entry in your dhcpd.conf file to point to
the 2.4.26, instead
For any other big dummies like me out there who installed the 2.6 ltsp
kernel BEFORE reading the warning, I think I have a temporary solution
for getting USB scanners working. At least it worked for me you're
welcome to try:

Can anyone offer a working configuration for PXE-booting a t5515 with
LTSP. Here's what I have at present.
Server /etc/dhcpd.conf:
server-identifier my.client.com;
default-lease-time 86400;
max-lease-time 86400;
option domain-name client.com;
option domain-name-servers 192.168.31.1;
Dave,
It looks like you are using PXE to load the pxelinux.0 NBP, which is
correct, but then you've configured the pxelinux.0 to load the Etherboot
kernel. That's NOT correct.
Why not just use the PXE config that comes with LTSP?
Your 'filename' entry in dhcpd.conf, should look like this:

I guess I hadn't noticed it yet... I was trying to follow the instructions
in the ltsp-4.1-en.pdf file. They are clearly a bit out-of-date and were
misleading to me.
Your 'filename' entry in dhcpd.conf, should look like
