# X_VERTREFRESH = 56-75
# X_MODE_0 = 1280x1024
# X_COLOR_DEPTH = 16
and see what settings the client takes. Maybe it already works...?

Can you connect a single client directly to the server with a crossover
cable and see if it behaves the same way?
The only time I've seen this kind of slow down on multiple PCs was when
I was using some really old Compaq Deskpro 4000s. Their NICs would not

I've made a small monitoring app that scans two lists to see
1) which terminal is in standby mode or off
or
2) which terminal is in use and by whom
The latter is simple, you just have to parse who. The first thing was
somewhat trickier, and eventually I used ps aux for it. The
On Windows I used to use an app called friendly pinger and another
called whats up to create a graphical map of which computers are
connected and which are disconnected. Is there an equivalent for
Linux? It doesn't have to be gui but I remember friendly pinger and
whats up were quite intuitive.

Thanks! I indeed changes ./mplayer/config which appeared in every
homedir and added these lines:
ao=esd# or change esd into nasd if you're using it
mixer-channel=Master
srate=48000
It now works!
