We've got ten ETC 2300 (Vortex86 200MHz 128M)and a powerful DELL server. The OS we work with is KUBUNTU. Everything works correctly. The clients, in graphic mode, work very slowly no matter how many of them are on. We've got 19 inches monitors and the resolution we use are X_MODE_0 =

Hi Francisco, Can you connect a single client directly to the server with a crossover cable and see if it behaves the same way? The only time I've seen this kind of slow down on multiple PCs was when I was using some really old Compaq Deskpro 4000s. Their NICs would not auto-negotiate

On Windows I used to use an app called friendly pinger and another called whats up to create a graphical map of which computers are connected and which are disconnected. Is there an equivalent for Linux? It doesn't have to be gui but I remember friendly pinger and whats up were quite intuitive.
