I have filed a bug related to this problem, but not a lot of movement
thus far:

My LTSP server is running Ubuntu Hardy and I can not use compiz (desktop
effects) on LTSP clients.
Tracking down the problem:
/usr/bin/compiz is quite nasty written script which seems to only counts
on the locally running X.
Give it a remote X (via XDMCP) and it gets very confused.
Does anyone hav

Syslogd on my Ubuntu Hardy LTSP server is displaying terminal logs at
about 1 log line per second. It can take several minutes to collect
logs from a terminal boot. This appears to be some kind of defense
against syslog flooding. Do you know of a way to allow full speed
logging?
Thanks,
Press control-alt-f1 on the terminal and see if you get the following output.
* mount: Mounting /nbd0 on /rofs failed: Invalid argument
* mount: Mounting /rofs on /root/rofs failed: Invalid argument
* cp: unable to open '/root/etc/': Is a directory
* mount: Mounting /root/dev on /d
Take a look at this post:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=597056
It was written for Gutsy but works fine for Hardy.

David,
Thank you very much for the input. I would tend to agree with you however I
have been very careful to eliminate the VPN/Firewall. The VPN tunnel between
the two routers is an IPsec tunnel and does not filter or NAT any of the
traffic. Also, there is no firewall on the TFTP server. Even s
I don't think you need those installed in the chroot. You need them
installed in the server's main system. The chroot doesn't handle your
user authentication, as far as I understand. (Unless you're trying to
login to the terminal itself).
