Upon further playing... If I use "xdm" instead of "kdm' in the /etc/sysconfig/ displaymanager file I get a login box ( the boaring X one). When I login to the terminal KDE gives me many crash messages. I read a post that said to do this in ./kdmrc [X-*-Core] AuthNames=MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 this di
