Hi everyone,
As the original author and prior maintainer of GPicView, I'd like to ask for
some comments from users and other developers. Since I no longer have the
time to maintain GPicView and it still has many problems. I consider
dropping GPicView in LXDE and replace it with a better one.
Current lxterminal is not GTK+3 compatible as what I tested. Though it is
compilable, it can't be configured and window size is not handled correctly.

Hello,
what about contacting the XFCE people to work on one lightweight image
viewer?Xubuntu discussed about Ristretto because it isn´t very good and they
also looked at replacing it with Gpicview.Maybe if we combine resources we end
up with something better then both Gpicview and Ristretto.
Wasn't Mirage developed for XFCE initially? I think it's a great viewer and
can crop images too (no other can). But I don't know its development status.
I love EOG colour profiles support, but I know it's unthinkable that layer
on Lubuntu.
(sorry for redundance, answering list)
Please try Viewnior before making comments. It's better than GPicView in
many ways.
It has all the feature GPicView has and is as fast. It's GTK+ 3 ready, too.
Though I don't like to drop my own program and use others', I see no reason
not to use it because it's indeed superior than mine. Even
I just installed Viewnior through their PPA, here are my results and thoughts...
1) Memory usage[1]:
viewnior: 23.0 MB
gpicview: 20.0 MB
Pretty much identical, Viewnior is just as fast if not faster when
browsing through a folder of images.
2) Thoughts:
So far Viewnior is great, I like it. If

Except in Ram consumption: for the same picture (very small one) i have 8,8

Sorry i haven't said this: +1 for Viewnior

It has very good balance between resource usage and feature set.

If you are happy with it, and it comes in before feature freeze, I am

For me, my plan for this part is to make lxshortcut a library, or have this
functionality built into libfm directly.
A library might be more appropriate since this can also be used by
lxsession-edit later.
A separate binary is better when we want to make it an optional component
and handle cases
Hi list,
I migrated my old GtkBuilder-based LightDM greeter to LightDM 0.9.x APIs.
Now it works well again with the latest LightDM.
It's still GTK+ 2 based. Migration to gtk3 will begin along with other LXDE
components later.
