2011-10-11 Thread Stefano
Ok, with the 77 revision the blank screen bug should be definitively solved.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Last tests before 11.10 release

2011-10-11 Thread Ali Linx
Ok guys, I'm so late with my notes this time :( I'm having so much problems
here which keep me away from sending my notes.

Shall I send my notes by email (as usual) or I have to create an username
and password for http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/ and report there?

And another question. I'm using 07102011 build so shall I download and
install today build? my internet is not that fast and if I managed to
download it today, probably I'll install tomorrow so it's a new day anyway.

Please advise!

Thank you :)

 Ali,

we need testing on completely new install - not an upgrade. New people
will not be using zsync... they will be using the iso. At this time of year
(release time) the servers get hammered. Too many people, too few servers.
 It is for this reason we beg people to use the torrents and be seeders;
every seeder makes a difference for the better.

I'll drag down the RC version and pop it onto piglet. This is the
version new people will be using. (I'm hoping they have got the Ubiquity
system working, else we're going to be giving lessons on the alternate CD
 ;)
 )

 Regards,

 Phill.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Blank screen bug solved (LSC)

2011-10-11 Thread Ali Linx
Hi Stefano,

I upgraded LSC via Synaptic but didn't get the latest one (77), it's 76 and
there is some problems with it. How to get the latest? shall I remove and
re-install?

Please use the iso tracker, especially to link bugs from launchpad to
ISO, so we can see easily which bugs affect Lubuntu.

There is a 20111011 ISO available, please use this one. I hope it will
be the last ISO before the release. You should always test the last ISO
available, because you may report bugs that are already fixed.

Thanks Phill,

PPC testing is not stricly needed, official release will only include
i386 and amd64. But if people are interested to test, any feedback about
it is welcome.
If we have people to test PPC during the next cycle, we can think about
adding PPC to official arches.
