2010-06-07 Thread Phillip Whiteside
Hi,

I can't find this bug, but am sure the team are aware of it. When reporting
connect / disconnect with Wifi or Ethernet the notification area repeats the
error horizontally Adding an new entry each time a new notification.

Regards,

Phill.

Hi,

it's been reported that the link on lubuntu.net is not working, the one I
use is https://lists.launchpad.net/lubuntu-desktop/msg01319.html If someone
with authority could amend the non-functioning link.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] lubuntu.net Download link

2010-06-07 Thread Mario Behling
Hi,

I changed one of the links at get lubuntu. The download links that
were used before still work. Might have been a temporary problem. I do
not know. If no, please let me know, where exactly are the links that
do not work.

Thanks,

Mario

[Lubuntu-desktop] Hibernate/suspend doesn't work when closing lid

2010-06-07 Thread Carsten Agger
I'm using Lubuntu on an Acer Aspire netbook 110 and am generally happy.

One thing, though: In the power settings (reached by clicking the battery
icon) I've asked the computer to suspend if the lid is closed when on AC
power, and to hibernate if on battery.

Alas, what it does in both cases is to freeze.

This worked *fine* in UNR 9.10 as well as in Xubuntu 10.04.

But these distros both used gnome-power-manager, I believe.

Any ideas how to fix this/what to look for or should bug be filed? (And
if so, against which package?)

br
Carsten

Top right link 'get lubuntu' on the front page of http://lubuntu.net goes
to http://lubuntu.net/get%20lubuntu

[Lubuntu-desktop] links in Wiki

2010-06-07 Thread Phillip Whiteside
Hi,

is it okay to update the help area of the wiki to use underscores as spaces?
At present https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/DocumentationHelp#Removing a
Program and lubuntu-desktop gets posted via copy paste as
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/DocumentationHelp#Removing a Program and
lubuntu-desktop
Which simply does not work. Yes, I know I'm still learning this stuff :-)

Regards,

Phill.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] lubuntu.net Download link

I think he meant the bigger 'get lubuntu' link above the one that you have
replaced.
It leads to 'http://lubuntu.net/get%20lubuntu'.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Hibernate/suspend doesn't work when closing lid

2010-06-07 Thread Jaeic Lee
I don't know why it will not work, especially when the same function works
on my MSI Wind.
But I'm certain that Lubuntu also uses gnome-power-manager as its power
manager.

PS. You could try verbose mode of gnome-power-manager and redirect its
output to a file.
Do something like 'gnome-power-manager --verbose gpm.log' and see what it
says.

This should also be done with kernel message buffer (dmesg), as it should
also have some information on what happens during suspending.
