Not got permissions to use external drives. Using users-admin 'Advanced
Setting' doesn’t work, no authentication dialogue appears. So unable to alter
permissions.

Hiyas Julien,
thanks for the chat and I hope the UDS goes well. Is there still the torrent
feed for 10.04, or are we going to have to rely solely on the server(s) ? I
still have my copy, so can fairly quickly resurrect a 10.04 page up on the
documentation area.
Regards,
Phill.

Hiyas Yorvyk,
I can discuss with you what back up solutions I have found, just drop me a

I'd be interested to hear your solutions. What I’m
I'm still seeding 10.04 when transmission is open. No need to remove it for
now. But I'll need to remove the .iso from http://people.ubuntu.com/~gilir/
(space problem, always ...)

My eee901go has an internal huawei, but with lubuntu 10.04 this bug it
did not exist. Since 10.10 the modem-manager starts up before nm-applet
and get no password to unlock the huawei card.

You received this bug
Julien, no worries. I'll keep it on my server area (I have 1TB). I'll get
the 10.04 notes re-done in next couple of days. Once the new server area is
set up, Derrick has agreed to allow it to be a seeder for all the lubuntu
releases. But like yourself, he's a bit busy atm.

Hiyas Steve,
I started with this list a while back
http://www.junauza.com/2009/01/7-best-freeopen-source-backup-software.html
I use clonezilla, but I was involved in discussions with pybackpack as the
dev was looking to make it GNOME independant.
Hiyas gang,
it was a hasty scribble up, but
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/DocumentationHelp#10.04 has been added.
Regards,
Phill.

A quick view on pybackpack:
- The GUI seems good and simple
- there is a depends on brasero, which is problematic :)
Flyback seems also interesting.
But there is so much choice in this area, we really need feedback from users of
those solutions.
