Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] power button

2011-11-28 Thread amjjawad HOOHAA
I do that every day but because I know what I want to do, I didn't care
about any pop up message that would ask me what do I want?

I have installed Lubuntu 11.10 on Lenovo G570 Core i5 2nd Generation with
4GB RAM. I didn't have the time to play with it but I'm planning too. That
would be my first time to use/try Linux on a Laptop.
I guess I'll need these stuff with the laptop :)

I guess this dove tails with an issue I've been having. When I close my laptop

more minutes and I might have had a melted screen :P

2011-11-28 Thread Michael Rawson
There was an update recently, maybe it fixed it.

Maybe the cache didn't get built properly when they installed due to dodgy
internet.

If you can get hold of the person, can you get them to file a bug please!

Although interesting, never had this problem.

Same like Tim, I have the same thing here. However, I don't really care
whether I get a pop up message or not because my PC does NOT shutdown at

However, it's good to have such option *BY DEFAULT*!

Your solutions works for me. Thanks a lot !

By "Lock Screen After", I was talking about the option in XScreenSaver.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] A few problems with Lubuntu 11.10

2011-11-28 Thread amjjawad HOOHAA
Hi Pierre,

You welcome!

I had a similar issue and a friend of mine has suggested few steps that
apparently fixed the issue. There you go:

1- gksudo leafpad /etc/pm/config.d/config

2- SUSPEND_MODULES="your_driver"

As per this:

*-network
> description: Wireless interface
> physical id: 1
> bus info: usb@1:5
> logical name: wlan1
> serial: 5c:d9:98:9e:57:ae
> capabilities: ethernet physical wireless
> configuration: broadcast=yes *driver=r8712u* ip=192.168.1.54
> multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11bg
>

SUSPEND_MODULES="*r8712u*"

3- Be sure to proofread carefully, save and close leafpad.

If the above steps did not help, please let me know so we can try another
steps.

Sorry but what do you mean by:

Otherwise, "Lock Screen After" is unchecked...
>

Sorry for the late reply, I had problems with my Internet Connection (ISP
issue).

Thanks!

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] power button

2011-11-28 Thread Tim Bernhard
I just tested the power button on my laptop with a fresh 11.10 install and
I did nothing. I added the lines to the lubuntu-rc.xml file and it worked
after rebooting the system.

Thanks Gabriel.

Then I think we should change the lubuntu-rc.xml instead of installing a
new app.
If the functionality is already is available, then that should be the way I
think.

I don't know if it is the same thing, but after I install the Lubuntu,
I go to the file ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml and add these lines:

lubuntu-logout
