Sylpheed does autocompletion, it's a bit hard to find, but it reminds me a terminal behaviour: - Put the cursor at address field - Type the three first letters of your contact - Now press TAB and a list will be displayed for choosing - Select one and press ENTER, that's it Easy and funny, eh? [Lubuntu-desktop] lxdm permissions issue
I've noticed that starting Lubuntu desktop via LXDM cause not authorized mounting with pcmanfm. But starting via GDM it's OK. Do you know why? I'm not sure, but I was like you when Lucid arrived. I have a Brother
multifunction. Since the removing of HAL the drivers were unable to find
correctly the printer, and the solution came directly from Brother.
Check it out if Canon has released a new set of drivers, and I mean a
DEB package, and notes recommending modifying some files. In my case I
needed to edit
/lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules
...and put this:
# Brother scanners
ATTRS{idVendor}==04f9, ENV{libsane_matched}=yes
Now, 90-local.rules is no longer a valid file to point USB
multifunction devices, and I don't know why.
Of course, this text is valid for Brother and OKI printer scanners.
Yours may be different, and sure you've checked this.

Jockey GTK is not polished in Lubuntu yet, even in Ubuntu doesn't work very nice, so it's not really our problem. I'm working in a theme (mockup only for now). The marketing items, such as banners, sticks, and other things, will derivate from the main aesthetic line and, remember, this a bit like a democracy, so you'd may not vote for my next theme proposal. This week I have pllaned to publish the first designs: panel background, menu button, gtk2 theme (now made by me, Clearlooks was not accepted for everybody, too vintage) and wallpapers. Independent of this, you can mail me here (or my personal address) about your needs in banner's sizes and messages. So, I'm waiting your suggestions. Well, I have no started with new marketing because artwork is not confirmed and adapted to packages. But if you need a specific banner I can do the modification, but using the 10.04 style. Oh my god, 111 days only!!! :D Not for artwork. I muust complete all of it in a month and, the worst part, you all must accept (almost a part of you). About the buttons, they will be on the right side. I put it on the left because I LIKE IT! :) And I'm a Mac user, so I preffer. But we must not go on the same discussion (Ubuntu paid it a lot, and it's really stupid). Look, a frined of mine asked for a theme with buttons IN THE MIDDLE! Midori isn't a REAL optin right now, because of handling certificates and such things. A better option should be Arora. But Alexander is right. Firefox 7 has improved a lot with beta 7, and 8 is more promising. Well, it's ont sure that Ubuntu istelf will remove all GTK2 packages and libraries completely. Shuttleworth was clear on it at UDS, because we're not going to be "cool and modern" but removing things that are really useful just because they're GTK2. More Adwaita style, even Clearlooks (not looking sooo eighties, of course). Anyway, you'll have time for choose colours, borders and everything else.
