[Lubuntu-desktop] Modifying files in Lubuntu

I need to modify /boot/grub/grub.cfg in lubuntu that I've set up in usb drive. But I found that it is not possible through lubuntu. I had to boot up kubuntu to edit it. What is the equivalent in Lubuntu for 'kdesudo kate' or 'gksudo gedit' ? -- Regards - Goh Lip
