Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Chrome & applets
@Julián Alarcón, Here Chromium is much faster than your friend firefox when running on a netbook wth 512mb/1.6ghz atom. I mean reall difference can be felt here even with many launchpad bugs open in different tabs. 2010/2/27 Julián Alarcón > MM, I just remember!!! > > I don't like Chromium/Chrome on Lubuntu , the memory use is awful. > maybe this is not a problem if you are testing Lubuntu on 2 GB of RAM, > but for me, Chromium with 6 tabs reach to 800 MB of memory use. > Firefox can handle 30 tabs and still use just 250-300 MB. > > The problem with OpenJDK is BIG. > http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=20087 > > They don't support it, and won't be. > > I like Firefox. [Lubuntu-desktop] A few suggestions
Hi, I am running the live session of alpha 3 and have a few thoughts 1. make background color of terminal white and rename it in the lxde-menus from LXtermnal to Terminal 2. If possible increase the width and height of lxmenu so that the icons look a bit bigger 3. make chromium to use the window border of the theme instead of chromium. doing this adds minimize effect to chromium. 4. Make Lubuntu Rock. :-) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Lubuntu Lucid Alpha 1 "Preview"
i would suggest change to lxmusic the music player in the live cd is not good looking at all and lxde website says that a latest version of lxmusic is released so why not use it. if the latest lxmusic was in the lxde ppa i would also test it. Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Email client choice
well nobody uses email client actually these days but still an email client is a part of an OS so its necessary to be included. there are many apps that no one use/some use but still they are part of the OS so an email client is also a part of the OS so inclding it is important On Sun, Jan 3, 2010 at 6:15 PM, Luther Goh Lu Feng wrote: > I think there may still be use cases for email clients. Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Lubuntu Lucid Alpha 1 "Preview"
ok i have installed this live image without a problem. this image is much better than the previous images. i have a question. how to install codecs for smplayer? will there be any lubuntu-restricted-extras typos thing? wicd does not connect at first try but work at second try. i also filed a request for indicator-applet-session for lxpanel https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-session/+bug/500053 fonts are better than before but still not that good as in ubuntu On Wed, Dec 30, 2009 at 9:07 PM, Julien Lavergne wrote: > Hi, > > I just generated the first real ISO for Lubuntu Lucid, available for > testing.
