Found the problem on Launchpad, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libappindicator/+bug/741385 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libappindicator/+bug/746495 Good news is that it's not a Lubuntu specific bug :) You can also workaround it by enable indicators applet in lxpanel. It's theme independent. Is it the same with all theme, or only with the theme icon shipped by default for Lubuntu ?
