It would be nice to have the mailing list on https://lists.ubuntu.com this will bring Lubuntu on par with the other official derivatives and may make it easier for people to find, and subscribe. What would be the difference be between the user and devel lists? Having the two often leads to cross posting when there is a relatively small development team and user base. This can be seen on the LXDE lists. The PPA will probably disappears with the time, we need more specialized PPAs, instead of one with many various stuff in it. This would be helpful. PPAs with all-sorts in are only slightly short of useless, as you end you having to pin some applications to stop them upgrading in order to try a new version of another. -- Yorvyk ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Would it be useful to keep lubuntu-desktop open and switch the PPA to another team like https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-packaging for example? For mine I'd really only want to see the developers having access to upload to the PPA anyway, especially now we're growing in size with the nature of becoming official. Moderating the lubuntu-desktop group still means there are hundreds of people able to upload to the PPA unless I don't understand Launchpad teams properly (which is also highly likely). -- Regards, Jared Norris JP(Qual) BBehSc(Psych) https://wiki.ubuntu.com/JaredNorris ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Right now, lubuntu-desktop has an open membership policy, meaning anyone can join the team and upload potentially malicious packages to the PPA. You can change the team's membership policy here: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop/+edit Otherwise, you can delete the team's PPA and retain the open membership policy. Before you can create a new team PPA, a team's membership policy must be either moderated or restricted. Your team was created before we improved the security around team PPAs.
