Hiyas Julien, thanks for the chat and I hope the UDS goes well. Is there still the torrent feed for 10.04, or are we going to have to rely solely on the server(s) ? I still have my copy, so can fairly quickly resurrect a 10.04 page up on the documentation area. Regards, Phill. On 23 October

I'm still seeding 10.04 when transmission is open. No need to remove it for now. But I'll need to remove the .iso from http://people.ubuntu.com/~gilir/ (space problem, always ...) Regards, Julien Lavergne On Sun, 24 Oct 2010 19:33:46 +0100 Phill Whiteside phi...@phillw.net wrote: Hiyas

Julien, no worries. I'll keep it on my server area (I have 1TB). I'll get the 10.04 notes re-done in next couple of days. Once the new server area is set up, Derrick has agreed to allow it to be a seeder for all the lubuntu releases. But like yourself, he's a bit busy atm. Regards, Phill. On 24

If it's limited to the LXDE packages + Lubuntu specific packages, backporting them to 10.04 shouldn't be a big work, since I already planned to backport up-to-date LXDE packages. Regards, Julien Lavergne On Fri, 22 Oct 2010 00:18:55 +0100 Phill Whiteside phi...@phillw.net wrote: Hiyas

I wasn't aware that there are still computers using i586. Do we know what CPU models are affected ? We can sill ask to re-enable the support for Natty (very few chances to be accepted), but we need to know what hardwares are affected. Regards, Julien Lavergne On Thu, 21 Oct 2010 00:10:45 +0100

Hiyas Julien, Having had a chat, (oh and the forum went wild over the dropping of i586 support),. what I propose is that we support 10.04 as a LTS and not just a beta. The kernel will be supported for 5 years, it's down to the devs to decide if they will compile stuff for the LTS kernel.

Hey, I just tried installing Lubuntu 10.10 on a K6 450 notebook and ran into the cmov missing problem. Since this distribution is designed to run on low end machines cmov support should be compiled into the kernel (imho). I just wanted to check if you're already aware of the missing cmov support
