I am experiencing some really odd behaviour lately and I wanted some
ideas on how to troubleshoot it further. Every now and then, seemingly

How often is "every now and then"? Once a day?

Not that I'm aware of, uname -r suggests my current kernel is
2.6.35-27 generic pae. I'm not knowledgeable enough to start rolling
my own.
