Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Last tests before 11.10 release

2011-10-12 Thread Ali Linx
This is the 3rd time I download the latest iso and the download failed and
disconnected. I don't know what shall I do? I tried to download at different
times but same.

As you can see, it always stuck and that's the best speed I can reach. I
wish I could upgrade my internet but it's very costly for a jobless guy like
me.

Will give it another try and hopefully it will work this time.

Please use the iso tracker, especially to link bugs from launchpad to
ISO, so we can see easily which bugs affect Lubuntu.

And another question. I'm using 07102011 build so shall I download and
install today build? my internet is not that fast and if I managed to
download it today, probably I'll install tomorrow so it's a new day
  anyway.
There is a 20111011 ISO available, please use this one. I hope it will
be the last ISO before the release. You should always test the last ISO
available, because you may report bugs that are already fixed.

Hello Jared,

As per Phill:

you will not see pre-release versions on torrents.

Thus, I have no other choice but direct download. I know Torrent would be
much better but it's not available.

Thanks :)

 I'm using:

 zsync http://cdimage.ubuntu.co20111007/oneiric-desktop-i386.iso.zsync

But it always gets stuck some where like:

 #--- 7.1% 0.9 kBps
 #--- 7.1% 41.5 kBps 264:02 ETA ^C

 ##-- 13.6% 8.1 kBps ETA
 ##-- 14.4% 4.8 kBps ETA
 ##-- 14.5% 106.3 kBps 93:26 ETA ^C

  21.9% 8.3 kBps ETA
  22.1% 5.0 kBps ETA
  22.5% 1.8 kBps ETA
 ^C

and as you can see, I have to press Ctrl+C to end it and start over
 again.

I thought it will be must faster than downloading 666MB but apparently,
 it's not :(

  Hi,

Just a reminder, the release of Lubuntu 11.10 is planned on Thurday :)

Pre-release images are available for testing on
 http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/

Pleas use the tracker to report of failed or successful installation
and testing. We probably not be able to include many fixes in the ISO
itself. But if we found bugs fixable, we can add them to the post-release
 updates.

I maintain the list of current known bugs here :
 https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/Developers/TODO#ISO_Testing_Bugs
I'll mention the most annoying ones on the release note. Let me know if
 other bugs should be in.

We are close to the release, just a bit of more effort, and we can
 celebrate it :)

 Regards,
 Julien Lavergne
