Good find! The licensing seems a bit unclear though. I thought the Eclipse
License requires you to deliver source code if requested.

What I got from previous discussions was that IKVM works quite well, but
some people don't like the idea because it produces its own wrappers around
Java code. E.g. a collection won't be represented as .NET collection.
Performance also seems to be close the .NET version (a bit slower).

I use it in my desktop app and it works great. My app gets distributed and
with TIKA I know what I get on the customer machine. With IFilter you never
know...

That's only IF there is such a tradeoff. From what I have read IKVM is as
fast as Lucene.NET.
I agree with DIGY about not hijacking this thread. I think I have started

Wouldn't it be better to make such a decision only after it has shown that

Hi,
I have to secure my index and I think an encrypted index would be best. I
saw this contribution
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-2228?page=com.atlassian.jira.pl
ugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel for Java Lucene and I wonder how
hard it would be to implement something similar
As a follow up to Ranga's request for a zipped version of 2.9.1 I would like to
suggest that the link to the stable zipped release on the project page
http://lucene.apache.org/lucene.net/ is updated more often. Right now, it
points to a version from March 2007.
I am pretty new to Lucene.Net and
s 2.0
