Essentially that is true if not a bit broad brushed. With tablature you are
given the exact intent of where particular notes are played etc. Without
the staff notation or mensural notation your understanding of the music is
based mostly on your ability put together the mechanics.

I have been away from home, so I'm afraid I come late to this
discussion.
The SPES facsimile of Kapsberger's _Libro Quarto_ is very misleading
with regard to arpeggiation, because the dots have not come out
clearly. I mentioned this in a posting to this list on 14th March
2000.
This is fixed now and the fret number font has been changed. I have never
found an ideal font. Which do you think is clearest (I do have Alain
Veylit's.)
