You're right about Contini being rather more accomplished than Torelli who doesn't play as tightly but still quite well. Track 6 on cd 2 does sound like a duet! And isn't the colascione (CD2-track 22) a piece by Kapsberger? G. - Original Message - From: LGS-Europe [EMAIL PROTECTED] To:

Track 6 on cd 2 does sound like a duet! On my cd it's Gagliarde III from the second book. a nice little solo piece. And isn't the colascione (CD2-track 22) a piece by Kapsberger? According to the booklet it's taken from a theorbo manuscript kept in Modena they don't specify, but one may

I often play the Cutting version of this piece, which is excellent. Your two samples were diametrically different, are you happy with any of them? Best G. - Original Message - From: LGS-Europe [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: lute@cs.dartmouth.edu Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 11:38 AM Subject:

Thanks for all the feed back, I just got back and was pleasantly surprised with the number of good comments. I did the reverb after downloading a plugin (never did that before) for audacity. Straight out of the box, didn't change any settings. It's way over the top, so I far prefer the one

That may be. It is hard to say from where the extract was copied. I have not seen the NFB Stravinsky film for more than 30 years. The episode was in the film when I saw it (in the late 1960s) as a student at McGill. I do not remember any Japanese(?) subtitles (as in the online version), though
