Yes - this is what happens in the vihuela books. The Benedictus seems to be
a favourite because it is often reduced to fewer parts in the original mass
settings. The Crucifixus from the Credo is another bit which seems popular.
I am not familiar with the Paston ms. but the family were Catholic

Hello Lutekin!
What plucked instrument would be appropriate for accompanying the works of

Gittern, I suppose. Nice little harp would do well.
I used a 10-course some weeks ago. Only four centuries off! ;-)

end up with odd bits from a large piece of music, say just bars 23-42, and
bars 69-93, and ignore all the rest. It seems utterly

I suppose it’s a matter of not only the right instrument, but also making it
convincing in terms of style… Oh dear! :D

Hi Lutekin!
Second question for the day - has anyone tried the Schertler Basik pickup?
Details here: https://secure.schertler.com/en_IT/shop/pickups/basik
I’ve joined a little ukulele busking group, and I’d like to use my renaissance
guitar for this, but everyone else has pickups on their
