Rest it on the bridge. That works relatively well and, with gut strings, is
good for the sound.

Hi Dick,
I know of no textual source that does not mention resting the pinky on
the soundboard. A raised pinky is however quite frequently seen in
iconography.

Related question. What about putting a little block in front of the pinky side
of the bridge to rest
It would love to hear you play it. It is quite appropriate for lute
really with its ground bass. I wonder if it would fit on the baroque
guitar.
