I'm working on Capirola's "Canto Bello".  Literally
translated, I suppose (based on my Spanish) that this 
title means "beautiful song".

Do we have an idea of what Capirola intended by
this title?

Perhaps reference to a popular song of his time?

Or perhaps reference to a precursor of the operatic
"bel canto" style?
