Dear Colleagues, I would like to share my struggle with Vivaldi's Lute Concerto in D-major played live, in a big hall, without amplification, on the baroque lute, strung partially in gut. There was only one, not very good microphone for whole ensemble, so sorry for not satisfying sound quality of the lute in the tuttis. Thanks to all of you for the very interesting and informative discussion couple months ago about the appropriate/right/historical instrument which should be used for Vivaldi's lute works. We worked shortly on this Concerto with my professor - Rolf Lislevand, whose first advice when I came with this piece was - "play it on the baroque guitar!" (as he did on his famous Vivaldi recording...). Indeed, it works fantastic on b-guitar, especially in the tuttis! But I decided to play it on the b-lute, because it is still the main instrument for me. Wiktoria.
