Your question is a very good one=2C and touches on an important aspect of how
we bring to life information otherwise trapped on the page. I think
introductions and interludes add a great deal to live performances=2C if used
sparingly. Sometimes=2C a lute song will seem to droop

What a Beautiful piece!
I also believe that an intro helps to set the mood of the song. It's good to
know that more people do it as well.
By the way, are you playing on ten course? Do you think bigger lutes are
more apropriate to acompany? Maybe even an archlute, as Karamazov does?
