Can anyone tell me what the following command does?
\makeatletter
It seems Lyx specific?
I'm trying to use a document class for a conference and this command keeps
screwing things up.
Is it possible to prevent the command occuring in the tex file?

It's just the first shot on the multiline stuff. It breaks almost
everything, but apart from that it looks rather well. 300 lines including
math_rowst* gone, small changes to the parser, rewrite of math_matrix,
