New chess article layout

Hi all, I am trying to rid my sample chess document (in examples/chessgame.lyx) of the majority of its ERT and allow easy use of the skak package. To that aim, I am attempting to create a chess article layout. I need some help/review. Here is what I have come up with (attached). There are
