Is it possible to get the old behavior of Flex insets (before the fix for #8442)?

This came up here: http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/174447/lyx-how-to-hide-text-style-labels-by-default/174543#174543 I wrote that it's not possible in LyX 2.1, but since I know little about layouts I wanted to check here. Is that right? Scott

I did not try, but my first answer would be that there is no need to produce a specific tarball with cmake since there is no more ./configure and everything is handled through cmake. So the tar ball can be produced directly with tar.  This will surely break the packaging process for distribution
