In my case it also happens randomly, actually. Now, for example, it does not
happen to me with the file I sent.
I hope something can be done with this, because sometimes is quite annoying.

I have seen bug 1777 is related to my comment. Is it been processed?

guess this is a bug, but a harmless one. I just wanted to mention it.

In the resulting DVI it is not only the note in grey, but also the

I guess the problem affects all styles that do not use the begin-end
construct (i.e. there is no problem with section, description, etc).

Hi!
I have found a bug in Lyx 1.4.1 for Windows (installed in Windows XP
with Uwe's installer v2). The problem is the following. It is not
possible to open/close a box (e.g. for a note, a figure, etc) when the
cursor is placed at a point in the document not visible from the current
screen.

like to have it deactivated only for the documents I am working on that
use a babel-problematic style file.

Hello!
Actually it is not me who created the layout. I just found it on the web.
In this site (http://www.ece.iit.edu/~jgrad/) you can find the email of
the author, so you can contact and ask him.

I personally do not like the solution of killing the acrobat process (if
you have other documents opened, then you miss them). I tried the
pdfopen and pdfclose utilities that were mentioned somewhere else in
this list and they work perfectly. Pdfclose only closes the document you
tell it. I
hope this solution will be included in the LyX distribution
for windows.
