I'm confused by the following: pdflatex output is redirected to
/dev/null but I still see some of the output. I don't think it's a
stderr problem since the part I see is written to stdout.

Running: pdflatex newfile1.tex /dev/null

I am trying to add an autotest for #8523, but how can I open a .lyx
file that I need to reproduce the crash?
Two solutions come to mind:
1. Allow for a macro [autotest-dir] that key-test.py will replace with
the autotest directory.
2. When a test is copied, also copy the file [test-name].lyx if
I do not see a way to insert a pause (say, of 3 seconds).
hello-world-in.txt does not mention anything.
One way to get around this is to use KD and then type letters, but I
don't know if this works in some cases.
Another workaround would be to use Exec but that is not system
independent. I guess

In that case I would use pdf only.
OK, a `grep default_output_format *.lyx` shows that all of the LyX
files in the lib/doc folder have default. Is the patch OK to go in
then?
