The attached patch fixes the display of the attached .lyx file. When
compiled, the .lyx file indents the first line of the environment
following the Theorem environment. But LyX shows the line as not
 indented.

Compile the .lyx file I attached in the first email of the thread, and
compare the compiled output to LyX output and you should see a

Thanks for taking a look at the tests! And I agree, it's good to specify
all the dependencies. I have some comments below.

I think there are tests that should be labeled "nonstandard" but
currently are not. Once these are corrected, we would then change the
following sentence you added:

With TeXLive 2016, here are the resources which should be installed to
  avoid standard tests failure:

to something like:

Here are the resources which should be installed to
avoid failure of tests with the "unreliable:nonstandard" label:

Do you agree?

For Development.lyx, the section
now reads:

To run all tests, in the build directory simply run the command ctest. A
full, up-to-date TeXLive installation is recommended to run the tests.
Otherwise, some tests will fail. Tests with additional requirements are
labeled "unreliable:nonstandard" [footnote: With an up-to-date Texlive 2016
installation, there are standard tests which will fail because of
missing packages or external applications, see below for a list of those
which should be installed to avoid these failures.]

I think this could be made more concise. Also, we need to be sure not to
confuse two things: (1) a *full* (I think we should mention this,
right?) up-to-date TeXLive installation is assumed for tests without the
"unreliable:nonstandard" label; and (2) for tests with the
"unreliable:nonstandard" label, there are requirements in addition to a
full TeXLive installation.

Instead of "see below", I would prefer a reference to a label.

Currently the list of dependencies you added is under the section
"4.3.1.7 What action should you take if a test fails?".
I think it would make more sense to add a section before e.g.
"Configuring the tests" that is dedicated to "Test dependencies".
What do you think?

Cannot test Arabic here (not installed).

> 2196 - export/doc/es/UserGuide_dvi3_systemF (Failed)
> 2203 - export/doc/es/UserGuide_pdf5_systemF (Failed)

These two have the known problem to produce wrong output, e.g.

  ÃŊndice alfabÃľtico

>From unreliableTests:

# Babel-Spanish uses Babel's "strings" feature to define
# separate auto-strings using UTF-8 literals.
# Babel uses the "unicode" strings if it detects XeTeX or LuaTeX.

export/examples/es/linguistics_pdf4_texF
export/doc/es/.*_(pdf[45]|dvi3)_texF

With the latest TeXLive update, this also leads to:

l.393 ... Índice alfabético}{175}{chapter*.10}

There are two literal straight double-quotes in:

"You only live twice." (an optional quote)

that lead to

! LaTeX Error: Command \textquotedbl unavailable in encoding TU.

In this case, I believe the fix should be to use curly quotes.

Q: Why does this happen although the test uses 8-bit TeX fonts?

A: The moderncv class checks for the TeX engine and selects non-TeX
   fonts with Xe/LuaTeX automatically.

Yes, it seems the polyglossia bug:

# Polyglossia + LuaTeX + \verb bug with Cyrillic and Greek:
# when compiling with LuaTeX, the "verb" and "url" macros trigger a false
# error (also with fonts supporting Cyrillic!) and spurious output
# See https://github.com/reutenauer/polyglossia/issues/160

is fixed.

It's only an issue when the docs are served from the _CI server_, it's fine
when served from lyx.org.

There are 196 messages like
Missing character: There is no  in font FontAwesome/OT!
or (in export/doc/ar/Intro_pdf4_systemF)
Missing character: There is no   in font
Scheherazade/OT:script=arab;language=DFLT;mapping=tex-text;!

Apart from this there are still 72 messages with
! LaTeX Error: Command \textquotedbl unavailable in encoding TU.
in
export/examples/modernCV_dvi3_texF
export/examples/es/modernCV_pdf4_texF
export/examples/es/modernCV_pdf5_texF

That's for now. The whole log file is 17MB big, mostly 'uninteresting' latex
info.

Are you sure this command was not valid in previous versions? The
changelog of 0.93 says: "Corrected \CopyrightYear command". Perhaps you
should double-check with version 0.92.

BTW it seems like the class is deprecated anyway in favour of

ctest fails standard exports of a number of examples and templates files

2017-02-14 Thread Jean-Pierre Chrétien

Hello,

I discovered that quite a number of examples and templates files depend on
resources which do not come with TeXLive 2016. This is normal with external
applications (R, lilypond, etc.) but there are a number of LaTeX packages from
editors which are not in the appropriate collection of TeXLIve 2016.

I made an addition to Development.lyx to record what is needed to avoid ctest
failures on files which are labeled as standard exports, see attachment.

CopyrightYear is the correct command name in acmsiggraph-0.92.layout

First, I detected an error in the acmsiggraph-0-92.layout, I corrected it in

I think the reason is that LaTeX actually switched to TU font encoding
(from OT1) for XeTeX/LuaTeX. See ltnews Issue 26, January 2017:

"The default encoding in LATEX has always been the original 128-
character encoding OT1. For Unicode based TEX engines, this is not
really suitable, and is especially problematic with XELATEX as in the
major distributions this is built with Unicode based hyphenation
patterns in the format. In practice this has not been a major
problem as documents use the contributed fontspec package in order to
switch to a Unicode encoded font.
In this release we are adding TU as a new supported encoding in
addition to the previously supported encodings such as OT1 and T1. This
denotes a Unicode based font encoding. It is essentially the same as
the TU encoding that has been on trial with the experimental
tuenc option to fontspec for the past year.
The XELATEX and LuaLATEX formats will now default to TU encoding and
lmr (Latin Modern) family. In the case of LuaLATEX the contributed
luaotfload Lua module will be loaded at the start of each run to enable
the loading of OpenType fonts."

> Plenty errors with

I had a similar problem with XeTeX.

It seems that since a recent TeXLive update, \textquotedbl is no longer
supported with the TU font encoding (Xe/LuaTeX and Unicode fonts).

Test

from autotests/export/latex/languagenesting2.lyx:

• No problem with normal text: (literal Unicode)

  “push” citations to LyX.

• problem with LyX-code:
Character '"' (0x22) QUOTATION MARK) converted to \textquotedbl

  LYXPIPE="/path/to/lyxpipe"

• problem with Character '"' QUOTATION MARK
if inserted via copy-paste: converted to \textquotedbl.

We convert " to \textquotedbl also for Unicode fonts, as it is active with
babel-shortcuts.

It seems we need to define \textquotedbl until the issue is fixed upstream.

Currently, it seems not widely recognized, at least a Google search did not
show any occurences of "\textquotedbl unavailable in encoding TU."
