    This enables error reporting for the preamble, provided the preamble is

    preamble. This requires some improvements to code editing in the buffer view

As written above. Error reporting for the preamble would be easy to
implement now, but I think it is better to be more ambitious and to aim
for moving the preamble entirely from the dialog to the buffer view in
the long term. But, if somebody is ready to implement the Qt aspect of
error reporting in the preamble (i.e. showing the dialog and
highlighting the erroneous line all the while paying attention to not
annoying the user) then I am happy to add the tracking of line numbers
of the preamble.
