I guess the downside of this is that math within insets with background color different from the work area might look funny - depending on the work area background. But I guess that is acceptable. I just wanted to check whether that is a know "bug" (I guess it is not even really a bug since one cannot choose transparent from within the LyX GUI). Daniel
