I also noticed that the .pstex file is a fairly nice ps file, you can
include it as it was an eps figure, in fact. So I think one could add
support for this format, since it's also advised in the User's Guide. I
don't think it would be necessary to place the text wysiwyg-like in lyx,

it was not the problem... it appeared to work only because I had used
"include" intead than "input"...
Although this is probably not the problem here, please use
\input{fig1.pstex_t} to include a figure. The syntax you use is the
TeX syntax, and is not considered proper LaTeX. You can
