If I write the program
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
\begin{displaymath}
\frac{overline{MN}}{\overline{OM}}
\end{document}
the result is correct with latex.
If I write the equivalente expression with lyx-1.1.4
the bar of fraction is confused with the overline of OM.

I've got the problem solved. I reinstalled the entire TeX distro from
source. Seems that it was a bad TeX install from the Slack .tgz
package. I'd be interested to know if anyone with Slack 7.0 has LyX
running well on a stock system.
Anyway, the interesting thing now is that my documents contain
