importing existing .tex file

Hi I'm new to this mailing list and ot latex/lyX itself. I've a silly question. When I installed the lyX software on my machine, I did so in the ~/Downloads/LyX directory. I've a latex file which I want to import into LyX using the File-Import option. But I get the following error: cannot find

Hello, I use a bibtex file, that has all the fields filled in, such as the journal title. Now I don't want the titles (and some other fields) to go into the reference list of my current document. Is there a way to set the style of the reference list in my document, without editing the bibtex
