When I convert my Lyx generated documentation to PostScript and then
from PostScript to PDF the PDF looks terrible. The fonts look like a
ransom note or something. The PostScript looks perfect though.
I use ps2pdf and also Adobe Distiller with the same results in the PDF.

Hi,
maybe that this is really a silly question and stupid idea, but
let me try it and please explain me, why I am a fool:
I have more than once mistakenly pressed Ctrl-D so that I
created two instances of kdvi (one minimized so not seen).
Therefore, I had to think about the reason why there is

My paragraphs have a habit of running one or two lines over to the next page.
This is especially unfortunate with block quotes, etc. Now, I know that I can
prevent that in specific contexts using \nopagebreak, but is there a more
"global" sollution, such that latex knows its ok if there are more l

Hi,
I have problems with RCS/CVS support. In order to be able to
read my data from Windows, I store all my working documents (and
appropriate PS/PDF outputs) on vfat partitions. However, I have
problems with that:
- I am not able to persuade RCS by any RCSINIT which I was able
to develop to work

I've just confirmed this happens with lyx 1.0.4 (yep, that's ho
Sorry Guys,
I forgot to mention that I'm having those rendering problems on Linux.
There were no problems with version 6.01 (on Linux). As a solution so far,
I set the \ps_command - variable to Ghostscript 6.01, because version 6.50 works
fine with all other programs using ghostscript.

Some of the same. I'm running the Win32 port of LyX 1.1.5fix2
and using Ghostscript 6.01 for Windows.
This version of Ghostscript does no
Hi,
after upgrading to ghostscript 6.50, lyx1.1.5fix2 and the latest
cvs-version don't render eps-pictures any more.
Anybody else suffering the same problem ?

I strongly disagree. You should be able to use the Title ,Author,Abstract
etc... styles and not have to deal with font sizes, placement & so on.

Hello,
Ok, it works so fine now.
It's easier to do a first page like this than
using lyx environment I think.
Thank you so much.
PS: I have found for the font size.

Hello,
Ok, I see. I am using the builtin Title and author lyx environment.
You, you make your own title page. I think it's a good idea.
Just on more question please:
How do you change the size of the Title font (Huge bold font) ?
You're not using the caractere or paragraph dialog.
Your sincerely
So may be there is something in your file/installation that prevents our
"tricks" to work.
I am joining a test file to this mail. Please try it.

Does anybody know how to handle algorithm floats for latex2html

Thanks,

Hello again,
Sorry, it doesn't work. I still have my picture on the second page.
Just a note: I have also tested a tip in the mailing list (about
how to add a logo on a title page) it doesn't work too).

Hi
You can try to define your title page "by hand" by using
\begin{titlepage} (ERT)
your stuff (Title, Author, abstract, standard, e.g. your picture,...)
\end{titlepage} (ERT)
At least it worked on my 1.1.5 with article layout.
Hope this helps

Hello,
I have tried very hard to add a picture on the title page but
it does not work. When I put the picture under the author's name,
the picture is printed on the second page.
I can't find any information on the Latex FAQ.
So, how can I do ?
Your sincerely,

Hi,
i use the fancyhdr option with my document (koma-script article). Everything
is fine, but on the page with the table of contents i get "table of
contents" in the left and right corner of the header. I would like to change
it, so that "table of contents" only appears in the left corner. Can any

it's a bug, not present in 1.1.5fix3, due out anytime now.
