How to make all math bolder?

2007-06-02 Thread Steve Litt
Hi all, I use a nice, readable 12 point Century Schoolbook for my books. I find most other LyX fonts to be thin and reedy (my vision isn't too good, and that could be part of the reason). Anyway, when I do Insert->Math->Display_math or Insert->Math->Eqnarray, the characters are 12 point but

eqnarray equal signs don't line up

Hi all, On my copy of LyX (1.4.2) when I use the Eqnarray environment, every line is centered but the equal signs don't line up, each under the last, in the finished postscript file. Aren't the equal signs supposed to line up? If they're not supposed to line up by default, is there a way to

Steve, I share your cynicism about Math education (and I am a Math professor!). Personally I think it is a very understudied area as it is hard enough getting competent High School Math teachers let alone taking a more creative and productive approach. Good luck with your book. I use a matrix
