top tool bar not available

So I removed lyx and lyx common and reinstalled on my debian bullfrog system. This is what I get now when trying to open Lyx: /usr/share/applications/lyx.desktop is not a readable LYX document. Any suggestions? John -- lyx-users mailing list lyx-users@lists.lyx.org
